Our surgeons are the physician component of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital’s Level I trauma facility. There are only 5 such facilities in the commonwealth. As core members of a Level I Trauma center, our five fellowship trained trauma and critical care surgeons have expertise in injury care and are available around the clock. We evaluate about 2,000 injured patients and admit 240 patients for burn and wound care annually. With our dedicated staff, in our own intensive care unit, we provide state of the art trauma and burn care in the region’s only Level One Trauma Center.
